About Us
Our nursery opened in 1996 in response to the growing need for childcare required by Service Personnel and contractors working within HMS Collingwood and other local military establishments.
We understand that choosing a nursery or preschool that is right for both you and your child can be a difficult decision, which is why we do our best to make it as easy as possible. We offer everything you would expect from an Ofsted registered nursery and preschool, such as excellent standards of daily care and education; a nurturing and safe environment, freshly-prepared food, and highly qualified and experienced practitioners.
But what makes Woodentots popular with parents is that we fully understand the specific needs of military families and provide continued support for you and your child during deployments. In fact many parents tell us that for their child, Woodentots is a ‘home from home’ because we accommodate their needs rather than the other way around. This, we believe, is the essence of Woodentots.
We have a an established parent group, the WPSA, who work closely with us to enhance the nursery community, by organising events for the parents, children and staff.
